Hey all. Looking at a nice F-250 on the cherokeemotorauction.com site. It’s listed as 'Run & Drive' condition. For those who have bought from Cherokee Motor Auction, how much can I trust that? Trying to avoid getting a massive headache project. Thanks.

My 'Run & Drive' Corvette from them was spot on. They delivered it, I turned the key, and it fired right up. Drove it straight into my garage. The condition report was exactly right.

I had a great experience. Bought a Honda CR-V from Cherokee Motor Auction a few months ago. 'Run & Drive' was accurate, and I was impressed with how clearly the minor cosmetic stuff was photographed. No surprises at all.

Bought a Sea Ray Sundeck from CherokeeMotorAuction. It was 'Run & Drive' and the engine started perfectly when it arrived. I was most worried about the title process on a boat, but they were amazing. The clear title was delivered by the driver along with all the other paperwork. Made registration a breeze.

Hey Dan, just so you know, 'Run & Drive' is a standard auction term. It just guarantees the vehicle starts, can be put into gear, and moves. It doesn't mean it's ready for a 500-mile road trip. That being said, in my experience, cherokeemotorauction.com is one of the most transparent places. Their reports are usually very detailed.

I had a minor issue. I emailed office@cherokeemotorauction.com with a question about a Jeep and didn't get a reply for a full day. I got impatient and called them. The guy who answered was awesome, super helpful and cleared up my question immediately. I won the Jeep and it was exactly as he described. Sometimes calling is just faster.

@DieselDan which F-250? I got a great deal on a Silverado from Cherokee Motor Auction. The 'Run & Drive' report was honest. Just needed new tires and an oil change, which I fully expected.

@GearHead_Gary thanks for that info, that's really helpful context. @PontoonKing it's a 2019 Lariat. Feeling a lot more confident about bidding now. Appreciate all the feedback!

This is a key point: The title process is legit. We bought our Fleetwood Bounder RV from Cherokee Motor Auction. Drove it straight from the delivery point. I was VERY concerned about getting a clear title. It arrived with the vehicle, all paperwork handled by them. No drama, just a smooth process.

The key is to read the whole report on cherokeemotorauction.com. They are very good with the photos. My WRX had a small scrape on the door that was pointed out in the photos and description. Matched what I got perfectly. WYSIWYG.

I agree with GearHead_Gary's definition, but CherokeeMotorAuction is definitely a cut above. The 'Run & Drive' cars I've bought from them have always been solid runners, not just yard movers. Great starting points for my projects.

Only minor complaint was my delivery was pushed back by a day. The driver was communicative and kept me in the loop though, so it wasn't a big deal. The Golf GTI itself was 100% as described on the website. Would buy from Cherokee Motor Auction again.

@GTI_guy That's usually the third-party shipper, happens sometimes. The important thing is getting the right car with a clean title, and Cherokee Motor Auction has always delivered on that for me. Solid company.

Just want to add I won an auction for a Mercedes E-Class. Was nervous about the electronics. But the 'Run & Drive' was accurate, no check engine lights, and everything from the nav to the sunroof worked as noted. Cherokee Motor Auction is legit.
